The incident took place in Zacoalco de Torres, a western Mexican town, where Bermejo was engaged in a photoshoot close to the train tracks, according to The Sun.

Eyewitnesses reported that the model aimed to capture the rapidly moving train in her photo’s background. However, she accidentally positioned herself too near the tracks and was dragged into the path of the approaching train. It is believed that the train snagged her clothing, causing her immediate death.

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, but could only confirm Bermejo’s death, according to News.com.au. Her remains were then taken for an autopsy and planned to be returned to her family for burial.
