Farewell letter found at home of late South Korean actor Song Jae Rim, 39

A two-page farewell letter was found at the home of South Korean actor Song Jae Rim, who was discovered dead in his Seoul residence on Tuesday at the age of 39.

The contents of the letter remain undisclosed, as reported by Znews citing Star News Korea.

Officials from the local police stated to Yonhap News that there were no signs of external factors contributing to the actor’s death. Song’s funeral is set for 12 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Yeouido St. Mary’s Funeral Home.

Fans expressed shock at Song’s sudden passing, with online messages like, "This is so heartbreaking; he was still young," and "It’s such a sudden loss," reported Dan Tri, citing News1.

Actor Park Ho San also mourned his late colleague, posting, "I’m going crazy, Jae Rim. I can’t believe it. I’m sorry I couldn’t reach out." Broadcaster Byeon Ki Soo shared condolences on Park’s post.

Song initiated his career as a model before making a transition to acting in 2009. Over the years, he featured in various films and television series, including "Two Weeks," "Goodbye Mr. Black," "Our Gab Soon," and "I Wanna Hear Your Song."

In 2014, Song gained significant popularity alongside actress Kim So Eun on the fourth season of MBC’s hit dating show "We Got Married," earning the Male Rookie Entertainment Award and the Best Couple Award with Kim.

Colleagues have remembered him as a straightforward, kind-hearted individual who was committed to charity, often making contributions anonymously.
