On Feb. 16, Znews reported, citing Sohu that Koo flew back to South Korea alone, checking in two pieces of luggage weighing 32 kg. No members of Hsu’s family were present at the airport.
Koo and Hsu were married for three years. When he first moved to Taiwan, he reportedly brought no valuable belongings. In 2024, he sent his car back to South Korea. Chinese media reports indicate he had no significant assets or real estate in Taipei. His departure with substantial luggage has fueled speculation that he does not plan to return.
A close friend told ETToday that Koo had lost 7 kg and appeared visibly distraught after Hsu’s sudden passing.

Before their marriage, Hsu and Koo reportedly signed a prenuptial agreement dividing their assets. However, the agreement was not legally notarized, raising questions about its validity and Koo’s potential inheritance rights. Hsu also transferred a mansion near an art museum to her mother.
On Feb. 6, Koo, 56, announced he would relinquish all inheritance rights to Hsu’s assets, transferring them to her mother.
Hsu, renowned for her roles in popular series such as "Meteor Garden," "Mars," and "Summer’s Desire," died at the age of 49. Her death was confirmed by her family in a statement released by her sister, Taiwanese host Dee Hsu, on Feb. 3.
Hsu and DJ Koo’s relationship first captured media interest back in 1998, after they met when DJ Koo visited Taiwan to promote his music and appeared on the entertainment show "100% Entertainment," hosted by the Hsu sisters.
Hsu, who had been an admirer of DJ Koo, once expressed a desire to marry him.
Their relationship was interrupted in 2000 due to a dating ban from DJ Koo’s management agency, but they reignited their romance following Hsu’s divorce from Chinese businessmanWang Xiaofei.
