Bordeaux resident travels to Vietnam for full arch implant by French-trained dentist

Rene could have had his All-on-4 procedures done in France or traveled to European countries like Poland, Ukraine, or Croatia for cheaper dental care.

However, he flew across the continent for treatment at Elite Dental Center in HCMC after his friends recommended Dr. Tran Hung Lam of the center.

"I was very impressed with the clinic's space and modern equipment, which was no less than the clinic in France, but the cost was very reasonable. The doctor gave me the detailed treatment plan," Rene, 83, said.

Lam, who obtained his PhD in dentistry from Marseille University, France, in 2008, played a crucial role in restoring the old patient's ability to smile and chew.

"We receive quite a lot of foreign guests like Rene. They come here because they are confident in our high-quality treatments, which are significantly more affordable than those available in their home countries," Lam said.

Thanks to high-quality treatment and affordable services, Vietnam has emerged as a new dental tourism hub in Southeast Asia.

According to an April 2021 article in the British Dental Journal, Vietnam and Thailand are the recommended choices for dental tourism in the region.

"Vietnam provides exceptional value for your money. We offer high-quality care at 20-30% lower cost," Lam said.

According to Ken Research, Vietnam had more than 2,000 dental clinics by the end of 2023, 40% of which were in HCMC.

Many clinics have made substantial investments in upgrading technology and infrastructure.

Lam says the Elite Dental Center has three clinics equipped with state-of-the-art devices and facilities.

It boasts a team of around 30 dentists who have undergone extensive training in the U.S., Europe, and other advanced economies such as Japan and South Korea.
