The world's top female golfer Nelly Korda received nearly US$1 million for winning three consecutive LPGA Tour titles but chose to celebrate each with a cheap meal afterward.

In the last two months, Korda played in three tournaments and swept all of them.

She began her stellar run by winning the Drive On Championship in her hometown Florida in the U.S. on Jan. 28.

On March 24 she won the Seri Pak Championship in California and returned to number one in the world rankings, pushing Lilia Vu to second.

After the title, she celebrated with a hamburger and fries at In-N-Out.

On April 1 she again went to an In-N-Out for the same dinner after winning the Ford Championship in Phoenix, Arizona. But the store was closed for Easter.

This week Korda plays in Las Vegas, a five-hour drive from Phoenix, Arizona. She and her colleague Olivia Cowan took turns to drive like they did to Phoenix.

Before embarking on the journey, Korda bought some pastries to snack on the way.

She told Golfweek: "I went to a coffee shop and saw that the baked goods there were eye-catching, so I bought the almond croissants to eat along the way."

Korda, 25, has been playing professional golf since 2016. She entered the LPGA Tour a year after that.

She has played in 132 events, winning 11, including the Women’s PGA Championship, one of the majors, in 2021 and earning total prize money of roughly $10 million.

She has spent 39 weeks at the top of the world rankings.
