The MV, released on Monday night, features cameos from famous national team players like Do Duy Manh, Doan Van Hau and Que Ngoc Hai and 1,000 extras acting as football fans.
The song is an elevated hip-hop track written by Den Vau and veteran songwriter Tran Tien, who also sang on the hook. The producer for the song is Michael Choi, who has worked with many international hip-hop artists.
According to Den Vau’s media agent, the purpose of this MV is to "evoke pride, convey the dream of glory and tell a story of football through interesting perspectives."
Many fans lauded the song for its inspiring lyrics, football references and Den Vau’s use of local accent in one verse, which showed the unity and diversity of regions across Vietnam.
But besides the compliments, there are also some mixed opinions. Some said it’s not catchy enough and the lyrics are not that special, unlike his previous songs.
‘Di Trong Mua He’ is invested heavily in the visuals, which recreated the vibrant atmosphere of victory celebrations among football fans in Vietnam. It was released during SEA Games 31 where the U23 football team are aiming to defend their gold medal.
The MV has garnered over two million views in less than 24 hours.
