Vietnamese football star and wife announce first child at baby shower

Photos and videos from Hai and Huyen's baby shower last weekend became trending on social media, of which the gender reveal part caught the most attention. As the white box was opened, a blue balloon that said "We Had Boy" was revealed.

Before the baby shower, which was held right before the couple's wedding party in Hanoi, Huyen was rumored to be pregnant when she called Hai "a dad" during a livestream session.

Hai and Huyen have been dating since 2021 but kept their relationship a secret. It was not until October 2022 that the two publicly announced their relationship when Hai's parents and Huyen went to France to encourage and take care of him during his spell at Pau FC.

On Jan. 1, the couple held an engagement ceremony. Hai said that Huyen is an active girl who likes to channel energy to people around her.

The couple tied the knot on March 28, followed by a wedding party in Hanoi on April 6.

The 27-year-old midfielder said getting married gives him more motivation in this career and more responsibility in life.

Hai is one of the most prominent footballers in Vietnam, having won four V. League titles, two National Cup and three Super Cup titles.

He is a key player of the national team and has won the SEA Games 2019 gold medal, the 2018 AFF Cup title and advanced to the final qualifiers of the World Cup for the first time in the country's history.
