Japan began their matches in the final round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers with a 0-1 loss against Oman, a 1-0 victory over China and a 0-1 loss against Saudi Arabia. They went on to win six matches in a row to earn their seventh World Cup ticket.
Vietnam, meanwhile, have suffered eight losses and one victory in their World Cup qualifying journey, including a 0-1 loss to Japan in the first leg last November.
For Tuesday’s match against Japan, several key players like Phan Van Duc, Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Tien Linh and Luong Xuan Truong are absent due to either injuries or Covid-19 infections.
The match will start at 5:35 p.m. (Hanoi time) Tuesday and will be reported live on VnExpress International.
