With the 0-0 draw against Indonesia in the first leg of semifinals on Friday, Vietnam became the first team in AFF Cup history to keep a clean sheet in six consecutive matches.

The six matches comprised five in the 2022 AFF Cup and the goalless draw against Thailand in the second leg of the semifinals of the 2020 AFF Cup.

The previous record was also set by Vietnam, with five consecutive games: the 1-0 win against Malaysia in the final of the 2018 AFF Cup and four group stage games in the 2020 AFF Cup.

Dang Van Lam also became the goalkeeper with the longest clean sheet streak in AFF Cup history as he was the main man in all the six matches that Vietnam played without conceding.

Following Lam is four keepers with four clean matches: Vietnam's Tran Minh Quang (2000), Indonesia's Hendro Kartiko (2004), Thailand's Kittisak Rawangpa (2008) and Vietnam's Tran Nguyen Manh (2020).

In 2022, Lam played eight games for the national team and kept a clean sheet in all of them. If club-level matches are added, Lam has kept a clean sheet in 16 out of 19 matches.

Lam had two crucial saves in the 0-0 draw between Indonesia and Vietnam on Friday.

The second leg between the two teams will take place at 7:30 p.m. (Hanoi time) on Monday. Vietnam will play at home in My Dinh National Stadium.

Vietnam are also the only team that did not concede a goal in the group stage of four AFF Cup editions, 2000, 2018, 2020 and 2022.
