Hakimi's ex-wife discussed various topics, including the couple’s attention-grabbing divorce last year, in an interview with Spanish media outlet AS on March 5.
"How do you get out of such a relationship? You have to think and consider things for a long time, argue with yourself and of course with him too because he is involved. Betrayal kills love. I have forgiven him more than once," Abouk said.
She admitted that the following year was the "hardest of her life."
"It was a very difficult decision for me because I left everything for my family. I left my husband, went back to my career, went back to Madrid and I'm coming back to life," said the 37-year-old model.
Abouk said that she believes her love has now shifted entirely to her two children, Amin and Naim.
In early 2023, the marriage between Abouk and Hakimi became a hot topic after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at his home in France while his wife and children were away. Following this scandal, fans discovered that Hakimi and Abouk had been living separately.
According to El Cierre Digital, the Moroccan star and his wife had considered separation since the summer of 2022. The reason was said to be age differences leading to disagreements about lifestyle and perspectives.
After that, the couple continued with their divorce proceedings, which were rumored to be complicated because Hakimi had transferred all his assets to his mother.
Sources said Abouk was also not in financial difficulty because she had a successful modeling and acting career. Both the Moroccan star and his wife remained silent amid the controversy.
