Bui Duy Thuong's long shot helped Viettel FC beat Cambodia's Phnom Penh Crown FC 1-0 in the second group 1 match of AFC Cup at HCMC's Thong Nhat Stadium Monday.

After Cambodian players lost control of the ball Viettel's Nguyen Hoang Duc stole it and passed it to Thuong who essayed a beautiful long shot from a distance of 30 meters to find the net in the ninth minute.

Having drawn first blood, Viettel played slowly, trying to control the ball and waiting for a favorable opportunity to attack.

As the match progressed, it was evident that the V-League 2020 champions were sticking to their defensive style, not taking the option to counterattack on several occasions.

The start of the second half was difficult for Viettel and the team kept revealing gaps in its defence that Phnom Penh Crown were not able to take advantage of.
