After enjoying egg coffee on Monday morning during his first trip to Vietnam, Apple CEO Tim Cook visited another coffee shop on Hai Ba Trung Street in the afternoon to meet Vietnamese content creators.

Trang Ta, co-founder of Hatchin Coffee, the second coffee shop that Cook visited on his first day to Vietnam, said he came to the shop around 3 p.m.

She received a reservation two weeks ago through a third party to "organize an event for Apple."

She did not know about the Apple founder's appearance until Monday afternoon, Trang said.

On Sunday night, the café announced the closure of the indoor area on the second floor to host the Apple guests.

Trang said she was surprised that the American multinational corporation chose her shop because the space there is small and more suitable for coffee sessions than a technology event.

The shop has many open spaces, filled with light and green trees. Its highlight is the old walls combined with the new modern steel structure.

"Some Apple employees said they had been to the shop and liked the atmosphere there. I think that's why they chose it," said Trang.

Trang said most of Cook's delegation mainly had Vietnamese coffee with either Cau Dat Arabica or Lam Dong fine robusta.

Cook worked with developers inside a closed room on the second floor for about 40 minutes. He did not drink coffee during the conversation but had a cup of coffee in his hand when he left.

The same morning, Cook had enjoyed egg coffee at a restaurant on Hang Be Street with singer My Linh and her mother, singer My Anh, for about 25 minutes.

Cook arrived in Hanoi Monday morning for a two-day business trip to meet notable content creators and app developers on App Store. Apple has unveiled plans to strengthen its commitments to Vietnam during his visit, including increasing spending for suppliers and funding a clean water initiative at local schools.

Cook, 64, became CEO of Apple in 2011, and doubled the company’s revenues and profits by 2020. Under him, new products like Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro were developed.

In 2023, it became the first company in the world to achieve a market cap of $3 trillion.
