The incident happened at the restaurant selling live seafood on Tran Thai Tong Street, at 10:25 p.m. on October 3, according to security camera footage.
After breaking into the restaurant, the suspect looked around cautiously and plunging his hands into a live lobster tank, taking one lobster which weighed about 3.5 kilograms, it showed.
When he was preparing to escape, a security guard discovered the theft and tried to capture him. However, the thief kicked the guard down and ran away.
The restaurant filed a report to police officers and released the camera footage on its official Facebook page.
On Monday, a representative of the restaurant said the suspect has not yet to be captured.
