Actress Bernice Liu recently visited the southern resort island Phu Quoc and enjoyed the local seafood.

During her trip to the island last week, she stayed at a high-end resort along Long Beach that previously welcomed several other Hong Kong stars.

The resort opened in April 2021 and features 302 suites and villas, six restaurants and bars, and is next to a UNESCO-recognized world biosphere reserve.

On her Instagram account, she posted photos of local dishes that she tried during her trip such as grilled lobster, pho bo (beef noodle soup), seafood fried rice, stir-fried water spinach with garlic and fresh coconut water.

"Classics dishes use the freshest of ingredients with a live kitchen and bakery. I loved being able to try the local noodle selection," she wrote on her Instagram page.

Liu rose to fame when she won Miss Chinese International 2001, initiating her move from Canada to Hong Kong where she had to learn Cantonese before scoring her first role in the long-running TVB sitcom, Virtues Of Harmony (2001 to 2002).

After leaving Hong Kong’s TVB station, she started a wine business, Bellavizio, which produces wine in Bordeaux, France, and Napa, California.

Well known for its long, sandy beaches, turquoise waters and dense forests, Phu Quoc is a popular holiday destination for both domestic and international tourists.

In April, Hong Kong actress and singer Myolie Wu and her husband Philip Lee also traveled to Phu Quoc.
