Bill Gates also thanked Chinese-Canadian actor Simu Liu for introducing milk bubble tea to him last year. In June 2022, during the Time 100 event to honor the most influential names of 2022, the actor invited the American technology billionaire to try a cup of bubble milk tea.
Originating from Taiwan in the 1980s, bubble tea was first introduced to Vietnamese customers in the 2000s and has quickly sparked a craze among Vietnamese youths, prompting foreign brands to rush to open stores across big cities.
