The U.S. dollar rose against the Vietnamese dong Saturday morning at unofficial exchange points.

Sellers sold it at VND23,480, up 0.13% from Friday.

Vietcombank kept the dollar unchanged at VND23,610 for the fourth session in a row.

Eximbank maintained the rate at VND23,580.

Techcombank sold the greenback 0.02% higher at VND23,605.

The State Bank of Vietnam kept its reference rate the same at VND23,602.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against a basket of currencies, including the euro and yen, edged up 0.02 per cent to 102.22, Reuters reported.

The dollar index had hit it lowest level since June 6 earlier in the session, following data on Thursday that showed cooling US inflation, firming up expectations the Federal Reserve will slow the pace of its interest rate hikes.
