The U.S. dollar gained against the Vietnamese dong Tuesday morning on the black market.

Unofficial exchange points sold it at VND23,500, up 0.09% from Monday.

Vietcombank sold the dollar at VND23,600 Tuesday, down 0.04% from Monday.

The rate at Techcombank is VND23,608, up 0.06%,

Eximbank kept the dollar unchanged at VND23,560.

The State Bank of Vietnam increased its reference rate by 0.01% to VND23,603.

The U.S. dollar index inched up 0.3% to 102.40 points.
