Black market dollar rises

The U.S. dollar gained 0.2% to VND25,050 on the black market while remaining static at banks.

Unofficial exchange points sold the greenback VND50 higher than Monday when its value went up VND47.

Vietcombank kept the rate unchanged at VND24,857.

Eximbank and Techcombank sold the dollar at 24,855, same as Monday.

The State Bank of Vietnam also maintained its reference rate VND23,674.

The dollar has gained around 8.45% this year at commercial banks.

The USD Index, which measures the greenback’s strength against major currencies, remains at around 107 points.
