Director Ly Hai confirmed that his movie “Face Off: The Ticket of Destiny” will be released worldwide after its success at domestic box office.

The movie is set to hit theaters in 50 cities of 19 U.S. states on May 26. Hai said it will be screened in 52 theaters, the most compared to the previous five movies in the franchise.

After the U.S., the movie will be released in Australia, Europe, and other Asian nations. In addition to increasing revenue, Hai said he wants to promote the traditional mat-making artisan village in Lap Vo District of Dong Thap Province, which appeared in the movie.

"The Ticket of Destiny" is the sixth installment in the "Face Off" franchise, but its story does not connect to the previous movies and can be watched as a standalone movie.

It tells the story of six life-long friends, with one of the six buying lottery tickets according to the birthdays of his friends. When one of the tickets wins, the drama unfolds as everyone clamors for a cut.

Hai, 54, is one of the most successful producers at the Vietnamese box office due to his "Face Off" franchise.

On May 20, "The Ticket of Destiny" grossed nearly VND260 billion ($11 million) after three weeks of release, making it the third-highest grossing movie of all time, after "The House of No Man" (VND458 billion) and "Dad, I’m Sorry" (VND420 billion) by comedian Tran Thanh.
