Four people in the Central Highlands' Dak Lak Province were arrested for trafficking a karaoke parlor waitress after she refused to drink beer with customers.

Huynh Minh Hung, 36, Mai Gia Bao, 20, and two other people were detained by municipal police in Buon Ma Thuot on Tuesday to be investigated for human trafficking.

Since February 2023, Hung has been managing a karaoke parlor in Buon Ma Thuot City’s Thang Loi Ward.

On March 13, a customer lodged a complaint about a 19-year-old waitress for "refusing to drink beer." Hung then beat the girl and called Bao, who often recruits waitresses for karaoke parlors, and sold her to him for VND20 million.

That night, Bao and two accomplices picked up and paid for the girl.
