State Securities Commission has first chairwoman

Vu Thi Chan Phuong, vice chairwoman of the State Securities Commission for over 6 years, became its first chairwoman on Monday.

Phuong, 52, a holder of a master’s degree in economics, started working at the commission in 1998, two years after it was established.

She was the commission’s deputy chief inspector and chief inspector before becoming its vice chairwoman in 2016.

In May 2022, Tran Van Dung was relieved from the post of commission chairman for serious violations and shortcomings in his work. Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Chi was in charge of the commission from late May to early this month.
