Shinhan Bank Vietnam on Monday announced the appointment of Kang Gew Won as its CEO, replacing Lee Taekyung after a year at the helm.

Won joined the South Korea's bank in 1995 and started working in Vietnam from 2011. Before the appointment, Won was the deputy general director of corporate services.

The new CEO of Shinhan Bank Vietnam believes flexibility and adaptation are important factors to create sustainable value in a challenging business environment like in Vietnam.

Won said: "We need to proactively innovate to meet the diverse, rapidly-changing needs of our customers."
