British automotive maker McLaren’s first showroom in Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1 will come into operation from Q2.

It recently announced HCMC-based S&S Automotive to be its authorized importer and distributor in Vietnam. S&S Automotive is also the distributor of McLaren’s compatriot, luxury car brand Rolls-Royce.

Vietnam is McLaren’s 41st market with an authorized reseller. Earlier, McLaren cars already appeared in the country through the gray market.

Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin entered Vietnam.

In 2019, McLaren's CEO Mike Flewitt said the automaker mulled to open dealerships in Vietnam and the Philippines.

McLaren, founded in 2010, is a subsidiary owned by the wider McLaren Group. Its headquarters and manual assembly plant are located in Woking, Surrey County, England.

Besides the main product of supercars, the company also makes sports cars with more affordable price tags.
