Taiwanese actress Wen Cuiping assaulted by spouse in public

This incident happened after the couple had dined together at a restaurant located on Dongfeng Street in the Da'an District of Taipei on Jan. 18, according to Sin Chew.

Authorities arrived at the scene to find the 53-year-old actress in a visibly distressed state, sitting on the roadway and in tears. She was transported to a hospital. Despite her ordeal, Wen declared she would not pursue legal action against her spouse.

According sources, the couple were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the altercation.

In the days following the incident, Wen took to her Facebook page to share her ongoing struggles with headaches and significant pain in her chest and body.

The comments section of her post was flooded with messages from concerned followers, many of whom urged her to distance herself from abusive relationships and consider divorce.

According to Yahoo News Taiwan, Wen married a Japanese man in 1998, with whom she settled in Japan and had a daughter, only for the marriage to dissolve in 2003 following her husband's infidelity.

She later married an American businessman in 2014, but the couple separated in 2017. More recently, in 2022, Wen announced her relationship with a man named Micheal.

Wen represented Taiwan at the Miss Universe World contest in 1990, although she did not make it to the top 10 finalists, as per Ifeng.

Her career boasts roles in notable films like "Flirting Scholar", "City Hunter", and "The Amazing Strategist Liu Bowen".
