An official from the university confirmed the expulsion of the pageant winner on Saturday, stating that the action was taken on March 26.

Hoa had joined the film directing course at the university last year, where she was obliged to fulfill a four-year curriculum, completing all courses and a thesis, while adhering to the attendance policy.

Prior to the confirmation, a snapshot of the expulsion notice alongside a roster of students compelled to depart from the university featuring Hoa’s name became widely circulated on social networks, sparking widespread discussion.

This incident marks not the first controversy for Hoa, as she previously found herself entangled in a scandal when images of her inhaling nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as laughing gas, from her high school days emerged after her coronation last year.

At the age of 26, Hoa has established herself as a model and entrepreneur. She secured the 2022 Supermodel International title and has participated in numerous beauty competitions before earning the crown of Miss Universe Vietnam and representing Vietnam at the Miss Universe contest last year.
