Tien Nguyen, Vice President of Luxury Fashion Development at DAFC, was honored "Influencer of the Year" at Harper's Bazaar Star Awards.

The Harper's Bazaar Star Awards 2022 ceremony was held on November 30 at the Military Zone 7 Stadium in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City.

Tien, officially known as Nguyen Jacqueline Tien Thao Hong, is the daughter of businessman Johnathan Hanh Nguyen and businesswoman Le Hong Thuy Tien. Her Instagram profile has almost 248,000 followers.

"Initially, I only used Instagram for pleasure and to share memorable images with friends. I never imagined this would allow me to express my love of fashion," she said.

Tien is renowned for having a huge passion for fashion.

"My mother described me as 'stubborn' as a child. I never wear clothes that others pick. I prefer to make my own decisions," she shared with Harper's Bazaar.

Tien has been studying, working, and living in the fashion industry since she was young, following in her mother's footsteps.

She described her fashion style as one that values diversity and uniqueness.

An influencer needs to be able to tell the brand's story from their point of view, and they must develop their own identity through the core of the brand, Tien said.

A genuine influencer needs to understand how to enhance and exhibit their style while honoring the brand's fundamental essence, she added.

She also shared that being the vice president of a company at the age of 25 is the biggest challenge that she has faced. However, it also gives her a lot of opportunities to learn and make connections.

"The relationships I have with brands, agents, and KOLs in fashion from all over the world have allowed me to be successful in this position.

"I want to be one who finds the best of the world and brings it to Vietnam, as well as proudly brings the best of Vietnam to the world."

In the first half of this year, DAFC recorded growth that exceeded expectations. Revenue increased by 49% and profit before tax increased by 65% as compared to the same period in 2021, exceeding the whole-year target in 2022.
