Positive Thinking Company hosts second edition of Best Developers in Vietnam

Positive Thinking Company launched BDV in 2019, aiming to provide a competitive, enjoyable, and challenging platform for Vietnam's software developers to showcase their extraordinary talents and glean insights from local and international tech experts through various workshops.

After four years, driven by a commitment to make significant contributions to the tech industry and solidify their status as a leading tech company in Vietnam and the APAC region, CBTW and Positive Thinking Company unveiled the second edition of BDV with an exciting twist.

The event featured a 1.5-month CodeFest titled Hack to the Future, replete with demanding coding challenges, and a tech seminar titled The Future of Tech, focused on cutting-edge tech trends like AI, Generative AI, Software Product Development strategy, and Sustainability.

The CodeFest commenced in September, drawing over 130 registered teams comprising experienced software developers and tech students hailing from various regions of Vietnam, including HCMC, Hanoi, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Can Tho and Tien Giang.

All teams successfully completed Round 1, which featured an online HackerRank quiz with questions on fundamental programming knowledge and an ideation challenge related to creating an AI product.

The top 22 outstanding teams advanced to the grand final on Nov. 4 in HCMC, following their triumph in Round 2's rigorous online challenges.

The grand finale saw these top 22 teams tackle final coding challenges and present innovative AI products to a distinguished panel of judges.

The top 6 champion teams clinched the prestigious title of Best Developers in Vietnam 2023 and secured grand prizes totaling VND250 million (US$10,255).

The AI products displayed by all the teams left an enduring impression, showcasing the profound technical expertise and diverse skill sets of Vietnamese software developers and tech students.

On the same day, the Tech Seminar, The Future of Tech, attracted nearly 200 participants, including industry leaders, tech enthusiasts, and business professionals. They delved into the remarkable growth and impact of AI, particularly in software product development strategies, sustainability, and tech startups.

As a global tech company, CBTW also commits to pledging 1% of its revenue to support global and local education, giving back to the communities where it operates.

As part of this initiative, participants at the grand finale of CodeFest were invited to vote for an educational project supported by Positive Thinking Company in collaboration with NGOs in Vietnam.

The project to build computer rooms, run by Saigon Children's Charity, garnered the highest number of votes and will receive a donation of VND 60 million from CBTW and Positive Thinking Company to further its efforts in Vietnam in 2024.
