The National Green Hub has been established with the primary objective of implementing pivotal solutions to foster the development of a green economy.

It is a joint initiative between the National Innovation Center of the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) amidst Vietnam’s transition towards green growth. The initiative aims to establish an ecosystem that fosters trade, supports investment, and facilitates collaboration for green projects and initiatives.

At its core, the Nation Green Hub will concentrate on key initiatives to accelerate green growth, including research and development of the Green Taxonomy, proposing key incentives and policies for green activities, and establishing a supportive ecosystem for green pilot projects in Vietnam.

Prioritized sectors include the production of clean hydrogen, green transportation services, carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS), or the application of new technology in agriculture and forestry activities.

These projects have high potential to accelerate green growth and realize Vietnam's commitments to sustainable development and climate change, especially the one of net zero emissions by 2050 made at COP26.

As a strategic partner, BCG will consult both the public and private sectors to implement green growth projects, including market assessment, technical research, and proposing appropriate incentive policies. BCG also connects with partners (government agencies, financial institutions, and businesses) to accelerate project implementation.

Arnaud Ginolin, Partner at BCG Vietnam, highlighted the significance of this key milestone in Vietnam's Green Growth journey.

He underscored the National Green Hub as a demonstration of Vietnam's commitment to Net Zero, and willingness to transition to concrete initiatives and actions.

Nguyen Duc Long, director of NIC Hanoi, said the National Green Hub plays an important role in attracting and encouraging businesses and private organizations to participate in the transformation process of national green growth. This resounding commitment exemplifies NIC's unwavering dedication to nurturing an innovative startup ecosystem.

The National Green Hub not only cultivates a favorable environment for investors but also operates as a transparent and open forum, facilitating exchanges between state authorities and private businesses.

Le Viet Anh, director of the Department of Science, Education, Natural Resources, and Environment (DSENRE) at the Ministry of Planning and Investment, said the National Green Hub is the key for Vietnam to access domestic and foreign green capital, ensuring the success of the Green Growth Strategy in the future.

Businesses, startups, and individuals interested in green growth can contact the National Green Hub on Floor 7, National Innovation Center, No. 6, Lane 7, Ton That Thuyet, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.
