The index closed 5.73 points higher after gaining 3.44 points in the previous session.

GVR of Vietnam Rubber Group went up 3.1%, SSB of SeABank gained 2.4%, and BID of state-owned lender BIDV was up 1.6%
Eight blue chips fell. STB of Ho Chi Minh City-based lender Sacombank slipped 1.4%.
MSN of conglomerate Masan Group saw a 1.2% drop, and CTG of state-owned lender VietinBank closed 0.7% lower.
Foreign investors were net seller to the tune of VND177 billion, mainly selling VNM of dairy giant Vinamilk and MWG of electronics retail chain Mobile World.
The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, home to mid and small caps, rose 0.74%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market went up 0.65%.
