BVH of insurance company Bao Viet Holdings and STB of Ho Chi Minh City-based lender Sacombank both closed with a 2.5% fall.
Seven blue chips gained, led by ACB of Asia Commercial Bank and BCM of Becamex Investment and Industrial Development, both went up 1.6%.
Foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of VND302 billion.
They mainly net sold VCB of state-owned lender Vietcombank and BID of state-owned lender BIDV.
The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, home to mid and small caps, fell 0.31%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market went up 0.05%.
