Gold price Tuesday afternoon went up slightly in Vietnam and remained steady globally as investors showed caution as they waited for new U.S. economic data.

Saigon Jewelry Company gold bar price rose 0.23% to VND85.5 million (US$3,365.48) per tael. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Gold ring price added 0.24% to VND84.2 million per tael.

Globally gold prices were steady as investors took a cautious stance ahead of the upcoming U.S. economic data that could provide insights into the Federal Reserve's interest rate path, Reuters reported.

Spot gold was nearly unchanged at $2,638.73 per ounce after falling as much as 1% on Monday. U.S. gold futures was 0.1% up at $2,661.10.
