Vietnam gold ring price declined Wednesday afternoon as global bullion rates held firm.

Saigon Jewelry Company gold ring price fell 0.26% to VND116.5 million per tael (US$4,453.19).

Gold bar was stable at VND120.7 million per tael. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Globally, gold prices steadied on Wednesday as investors awaited U.S. payroll data and assessed Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's cautious stance on rate cuts, while a weaker dollar helped support greenback-priced bullion, Reuters reported.

Spot gold was stable at $3,337.12 per ounce while U.S. gold futures were steady at $3,346.

"Gold prices are consolidating after posting the strongest gains in two weeks. The overall trend bias continues to favour the upside for now," said Ilya Spivak, head of global macro at Tastylive, adding Fed policy expectations are taking center stage at the moment.
