SJC gold price declined 0.07% to VND67 million ($2,857.44) per tael Wednesday morning.

Gold ring price dropped 0.26% to VND56.5 million per tael. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Globally gold prices edged higher on Wednesday as the dollar pulled back, with investors focussing on key U.S. inflation data due later in the day for signs on how close interest rates are to peaking, Reuters reported.

Spot gold was up 0.1% at $2,005.18 per ounce. U.S. gold futures rose 0.1% to $2,020.10.

The dollar index was lower by 0.1%, making bullion cheaper for buyers holding other currencies.

All eyes are on the U.S. consumer price index data for clues on the Federal Reserve’s rate-hike path.
