Vietnam gold prices fell Saturday morning, having dropped 6% so far this year.

Saigon Jewelry Company gold bar declined 0.21% to VND143.6 million (US$5,545.57) per tael. A tael equals 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Gold ring fell 0.21% to VND143.2 million per tael.

Globally gold slipped 0.12% to $4,164.10 per ounce, following an earlier gain supported by a weaker dollar and lower U.S. Treasury yields, while expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike this month remained subdued despite hotter-than-expected inflation data, Reuters reported.
