Gasoline prices Thursday afternoon rose to the highest level this year, driven by a global increase due to heightened geopolitical risks.

The popular fuel RON95 gained 1.22% to VND21,500 (US$0.82) per liter.

Biofuel E5 RON92 increased by 1.36% to VND20,910.

Diesel went up 2.87% to VND19,700.

Fuel prices over the past seven days have been influenced by various factors, including the conflict between Israel and Iran in the Middle East, as well as the ongoing Russia-Ukraine situation, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

On average, a barrel of RON95 gasoline rose by 1.4%, reaching $86.3, while that of diesel went up 3.2% to $92.4.
