Gasoline prices climb to 4-month peak

Vietnam gasoline prices on Thursday reached the highest mid-February as global rates shot up due to rising geopolitical tension.

The popular fuel RON95 went up 6.41% to VND21,240 (US$0.81) per liter.

It has risen 3.4% since the beginning of the year.

Biofuel E5 RON92 gained 6% to VND20,630.

Diesel increased by 8.2% to VND18,920.

Regulators said that the global oil market over the past seven days were influenced by various factors, including the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran in the Middle East, while the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continued.

RON95 gained 8.2% to $85.1 per barrel, while diesel increased by 9.9% to $8.05 per barrel.
