Each kilogram of the highest-grade Ri6 durian sold for VND150,000 (US$5.93) in the Central Highlands, up 3.45% from Wednesday. Prices were stable at VND150,000 per kilogram in the Mekong Delta.
Monthong durian prices went up by 3.13% to VND165,000 per kilogram in both regions.
Export prices of the Ri6 variety and the Thai cultivar held firm at VND152,000 and VND179,000 per kilogram, respectively.
According to Vietnamese magazine Thuong Hieu Va Cong Luan, most of the current supply now comes from the off-season harvest in the Mekong Delta. However, yields have decreased this year due to the weather condition.
