The U.S. dollar declined against the Vietnamese dong on the black market Saturday morning.

Unofficial exchange points sold the greenback 0.15% lower at VND26,280. Vietcombank kept its rate unchanged at VND26,490.

Globally the dollar fell against the Japanese yen on Friday, with traders braced for a second round of intervention after Japanese authorities stepped in to prop up their currency a ‌day earlier, Reuters reported.

The dollar slipped 0.8% to 158.225 yen, a day after sinking 2.4%.

Japan's slow pace of rate hikes has been blamed for pushing the yen to 40-year lows below 163 per dollar recently. Analysts expect the Bank of Japan to raise rates again to 1.25% by year-end.
