Vietcombank sold the dollar at VND25,460, down 0.03% from the weekend. The greenback slid 0.04% to VND25,700 on the black market.
The State Bank of Vietnam reduced its reference rate by 0.03% to VND24,248. The dollar has risen against the dong by 4.26% since the beginning of the year.
Globally, the dollar index, which measures the currency against six top counterparts including the yen and the euro, was flat at 106.010 on Monday after edging up 0.2% last week, Reuters reported.
The dollar added 0.5% on the won to 1,430.87, nearing last week's peak of 1,443.40.
The euro stood at $1.0557, having bounced as high as $1.0629 on Friday before the job figures boosted the dollar broadly.
The dollar dipped 0.1% on the yen to 149.80, having held to a 148.65 to 151.23 range last week as investors await further guidance on the prospect of a near-term rate hike from the Bank of Japan.
