The U.S. dollar dropped marginally against the Vietnamese dong Tuesday morning.

Vietcombank sold the greenback at VND25,765, down 0.06% from Monday.

The State Bank of Vietnam lowered its reference rate by 0.01% to VND24,755.

Unofficial exchange points sold the dollar 0.08% higher at VND25,830.

Globally the dollar index and U.S. Treasury yields dropped after U.S. economic data reinforced growth worries, Reuters reported.

The ISM manufacturing index indicated a slower pace of expansion, and more worryingly the new orders and employment indices fell into contraction territory.

The Indian rupee will contend with conflicting forces after risk soured on U.S. President Donald Trump's comments that his proposed tariffs will proceed.
