At the event, Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh, Chairwoman of REE Corporation and a pillar of the Vietnamese business community, delivered the keynote speech that focused on the strength that Vietnamese women have exhibited throughout the country’s changing times.

"Through their self-development and professional development, women have become more proactive in developing their own knowledge and skills for their careers," she said.
The chairwoman also highlighted the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for women in business. She also graciously answered questions from the attendees, not just about running and growing a business but also about being a wife and mother.
She was also the recipient of the inaugural "Frasers Vietnam Businesswoman of the Year" award. In accepting the award, Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh said that she did so on behalf of businesswomen everywhere.

The diverse international backgrounds of the panelists were also helpful in examining the uniqueness of Asian and Vietnamese views of gender roles and how these factored into conversations about representation in the workplace.

The discussions gave attendees insightful and practical examples about how diversity and inclusion can be practiced in business.
