Vietnamese automaker VInFast launched a prototype of its first electric pickup truck at a tech event in the U.S Wednesday morning.

The truck is a result of 8,000 hours of partnership between VinFast and Australia’s design firm GoMotiv.

Its bed can be extended from 5 to 8 feetwith the rear seats folded down automatically.

"The car showcases our aspiration to venture into the fast-paced and thriving electric pickup truck market," said Tran Mai Hoa, deputy CEO of sales and marketing at VinFast Global.

It is unclear when the company will start selling the pickup.

The company also started selling its four-seater mini-eSUV VF 3 globally after first aiming to launch it only in Vietnam.

As a mini-eSUV, the VF 3 boasts a well-proportioned footprint for effortless city navigation.

It has a driving range of over 125 miles per full charge, and delivers comfort while maintainingoptimal maneuverability, empowering drivers to confidently navigate city streets.
