Tran Mai Hoa has been reappointed CEO of mall operator Vincom Retail the same day conglomerate Vingroup announced the sale of its majority stake in it.

Starting Monday she will also be deputy chairwoman of the company for 2024-28, it said in a statement. Hoa was the CEO of the company between 2016 and 2023.

Her predecessor, Pham Thi Thu Hien, becomes deputy CEO in charge of business and marketing.

Hoa, 50, joined Vincom Retail in 2014 as a project director. She was later promoted to deputy CEO and then, ib early 2016 when she became the CEO and held the chair until October last year when Hien took over.

Vingroup on Monday announced that it would sell its stake in a subsidiary which will reduce its ownership in Vincom Retail to 18.37% of capital and 18.82% of voting rights.

Vincom Retail posted revenues of VND9.79 trillion ($396 million) last year, up 33% from 2022. Its post-tax profit rose 59% to VND4.41 trillion.

It operates 83 malls in 44 localities and plans to open six more this year.
