The Thai company, after 40 years of operations and having millions of customers, is now under Emall’s management, the latter’s CEO Pham Minh Thang told VnExpress Friday without disclosing the value of the deal.
Emall, which operates 100 stores in Vietnam under the Pierre Cardin and Oscar brands, also makes shoes.

It has been exporting Pierre Cardin shoes to Thailand for seven years. It said the quality of its products are comparable to those made in Thailand and China.
Over the past decade Emall has also exported Pierre Cardin shoes to France, India, Mexico, and Brazil.
"Thailand is a leading retail market for luxury brands in the region," Thang said. "A strong presence in this country paves the way for our Southeast Asian expansion, including challenging markets such as Singapore."
The acquisition process began in March and is expected to double Emall’s revenues from Pierre Cardin shoes.
It plans to open more retail stores in Thailand starting in July, including in iconic shopping destinations such as Central World and Siam Paragon.
In Vietnam, Pierre Cardin shoes are sold at over 50 shopping centers.
