The vehicles affected were produced between Nov. 2-21, 2020, Toyota Vietnam announced on Mar. 7.
The Japanese automaker explained that temperature changes could cause the front hood to liquefy and crack, potentially leading to detachment from the vehicle. Toyota said affected Alphard models would be brought to official maintenance centers for evaluation. If necessary, the hoods will be replaced free of charge.
The Alphard, a luxury MPV imported from Japan, is available in Vietnam in two versions: a petrol model priced at VND4.37 billion ($171,339) and a hybrid variant priced at VND4.475 billion.
