Singaporean roastery Apartment Coffee has been crowned Asia’s best coffee shop and ranked 6th on the World's 100 Best Coffee Shops list.

The ranking, based on public votes and expert evaluations, aims to identify the world's best coffee shops by assessing the quality of coffee, food and pastries, barista skills, customer service, innovation, ambiance, and consistency, according to its official website.

Apartment Coffee, located at 139 Selegie Road, was founded in 2018 by 34-year-old Yeo Qing He, who also won the Singapore Brewers Cup Champion title that same year, according to CNA.

Known for its serene, minimalist aesthetic, the shop offers a menu focused on pour-over brews made from beans sourced from Ethiopia, Brazil, Rwanda, and Costa Rica.

Yeo told The Straits Times that Apartment Coffee distinguishes itself by meticulously curating every aspect, from the coffee selection and interior design to the choice of drinkware, to enhance customers’ coffee experience.

Globally, Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters in Sydney, Australia, claimed the top spot while Onyx Coffee Lab from Arkansas, USA, ranked second and Gota Coffee Experts in Vienna, Austria, placed third.

Malaysia’s Story of Ono was the only other Asian café in the top 10, ranking 9th, while the Philippines’ Yardstick was the region’s third-best entry at 19th.
