Game distributors must ensure that players under 18 years of age cannot spend more than 60 minutes a day on a single game, according to a new government decree.

In total underage players cannot exceed a 180-minute cap for all games that the distributor provides, said the decree which came into effect last weekend.

Distributors need to develop a technical barrier to manage players’ playtime.

They need to inform players that "playing games for more than 180 minutes a day will have negative health effects," and this warning should be displayed on players’ devices once every 30 minutes.

The new decree applies to both online and offline games.

It also requires distributors to collect players’ data including their name, date of birth, and phone number. A player’s account must be authenticated with his or her phone number.

The decree also said that virtual in-game items cannot be converted into cash or prepaid cards, nor can they be bought or sold between players.
