PGBank has appointed Dinh Thi Huyen Thanh, who joined the company four months ago, as its acting CEO.

She replaced Pham Manh Thang, who was recently appointed as chairman of the lender.

Thanh is among six members of the board of directors who were appointed Monday.

Thanh, 42, has nearly 18 years of experience in the finance-banking sector. She has a doctorate in finance-banking from Maastricht University in the Netherlands.

She used to hold key positions at RaboBank in the Netherlands and the U.S. as well as Vietnam’s Techcombank.

Thanh joined PGBank in July as a director of management and human resources development and became deputy CEO in mid-August.

At the extraordinary general meeting on Monday, PGBank was able to announce a new leadership team after three shareholders bought a 40% stake from state-owned fuel distributor Petrolimex.
