Honda CR-V hybrid honored as 'Car of the Year' at Car Awards 2023

The hybrid variant imported from Thailand has a sporty quality that few other models in this category have. Along with new design and rich amenities for individual customers and families, Honda's car model has won the hearts of the event's board of experts.

Among the 16 car models in the final nomination round, the jury members selected three car models.

With 17 points, the CR-V was crowned "Car of the Year 2023," while VF 6 came in second (16 points). Mercedes GLC finished third with 8 points.

Car Awards 2023 also gave "Car of the Year" awards in the B-size sedan category to Honda City, small luxury car Mercedes GLC, and mid-size luxury car Porsche Caynene. VinFast VF 5 was the "New Star of 2023."

The Car Awards 2023 Gala was organized by VnExpress with a series of programs, including Car Talks seminar; Car Driving Skills which provided a series of videos instructing safe driving skills; and Review My Car, where visitors could share experience about the cars they are using.

Pham Duc Huy, Head of the Car Awards organization board, said the event welcomed nearly 8,000 attendees over the weekends at Yen So Park, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi.

The event was also the first time there was an exhibition dedicated to electrified vehicles in Vietnam.

The Car Awards 2023's message, "Future Forward," reflects the electrified car model trend. Industry experts have also expressed support for the development of hybrid and pure electric vehicles that help to reduce emissions and are environmentally friendly.

VinFast VF 6 won "Car of the Year" in the B-size CUV category, while the Honda CR-V was honored as "Car of the Year" in the C-size CUV. The Kia Sorento was honored as "Car of the Year" in the D-size SUV category. All three are electrified products.
