Four technology-based Vietnamese startups have made it to the Forbes Asia 100 to Watch list of most notable companies across the Asia-Pacific.

The list features companies that address daily problems such as improving transportation in congested cities, expanding affordable connectivity in remote regions and preventing food waste.

Seventeen countries and territories are represented.

Logivan, founded in 2017 by Linh Pham, is considered the answer to Vietnam’s fragmented highway transportation network.

This so-called ‘Uber for trucks’ allows companies to quickly locate and hire trucks which might otherwise return empty after delivering a consignment.

Logivan says it has signed up more than 60,000 trucks, and its clients include companies like Coca-Cola, Olam and Wilmar.

It has raised $8 million including from Insignia Ventures Partners and K3 Ventures.

Lozi’s transportation app Loship seeks to take on giant rivals such as GoTo and Grab by promising delivery of anything—meals, raw materials, food supplies and people—within one hour.

Covering Vietnam’s main and second-tier cities, Lozi says it has raised $16 million to expand its services.

Med 247, founded in 2019, is an offline-to-online health startup that provides round-the-clock care through tech-driven health services on an app.

The company, which has raised $1 million with KK Fund as its key backer, aims to scale through partnerships.

Hoozing’s app provides user reviews, price calculation tools and digital payment options to speed up property leasing and sales.

CEO Hai Le said despite the pandemic the company earned revenues of around $1.1 million in 2020, and it would become profitable by year-end with revenues rising to $2 million.
